"More than pretty"
That is what the message on my shirt is depicting. I am absolutely in love with this platform. As a woman, I think it is very important that the success of women, specifically black women, be recognized not just by their looks, superlatives or restricted "potential", but by their leadership, their drive and their talents.
I love being a black woman and I know that I'm beautiful but I am so so so so much more than that. I am thankful for Spelman for teaching me what it means to embrace and love oneself. I am eternally indebted to Spelman's lessons of self-efficacy, self-empowerment and the beautiful environment made up of black women that strengthens me so.
Spelman has taught me what it truly means to stand for something and not to fall for just anything. Spelman College: the best investment I have ever made.
